Synopsis:

Borrowed Robes is set against the historical background of the antiSemitism that afflicted Ireland in the early 20th Century. It examines how a charismatic and fanatical orator can, with tragic consequences, whip up a frenzy of unthinking prejudice and hate among his congregation, and how one man's strict beliefs can cause his downfall when his rigid adherence to rules is challenged by emotional obsession. Set in an Irish city in 1904.
